The Switch® Live - 1st Module

DOING THE FIRST MODULE OF THE SWITCH DOES NOT GUARANTEE ENTRY TO THE REST OF THE PROGRAMME

We know that committing to a programme can feel like a big step, especially when you may already have tried many treatments. That’s why we’ve designed The Switch® so that you begin with Module 1 as a standalone introduction for just $200. This gives you the chance to gently “test the waters” before deciding whether the full Switch® Live feels right for you. At the end of Module 1, if you feel this is the right fit for you — and Mel feels you are in the best place to benefit from the course — you’ll then be warmly invited to continue into the Switch® Live.

Please note that a specific course date will only be offered after Module 1 has been completed and you are approved to continue. This is because we only want you to spend money on the course if we think it is likely that you are going to get good results from attending. To secure a course date promptly, we recommend working through Module 1 and the Discovery Call as quickly as possible.

YOU NEED TO DO THE WORK

The Switch® has three training days of between 5 and 6 hours each and a self-directed learning and integration day in between. You may wonder how you'll manage, but my experience is that clients not only cope, but improve their health throughout the course.

You will not get well just by listening to me talk – you need to practice The Switch techniques a lot during and after the course, until you are better. 20-30 times per day is the average.

WE ARE NOT DOCTORS

The Switch® seeks to help people with mind-body and lifestyle corrections to resolve long-term illness. We are not doctors, which means we do not offer diagnoses, prescribe medication or give advice about medical procedures or medication. We advise you to liaise with your doctor for these purposes and to maintain mainstream screening programmes for preventative care. The Switch can be used alongside mainstream medical care.

PERSONAL USE ONLY

Doing this course is for personal use only. It will not teach you to be a Practitioner or to help other people to recover. It can be counter-productive to show parts of the course to people because they need to learn the programme in its entirety to understand and benefit from it.

ONGOING PROBLEMS

If you do not get an improvement through using The Switch®, if you experience a temporary relapse or you have any adverse reactions to it, contact us or your doctor for advice. We have found that this situation is rare and that the problem can usually be fixed through a quick phone conversation or a one-hour consultation.

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

At The Switch®, participants have the right to work on the issues that are most important to them. These may include sensitive topics such as trauma, sexuality, abuse, cultural, or personal matters. Because it is not possible to predict what may feel triggering or uncomfortable for each individual, all participants are encouraged to take responsibility for their own boundaries. If you feel uncomfortable, you are welcome to step out of the room (for in-person courses) or mute your computer and/or step away (for online courses) until that process has concluded. There is no judgement placed on anyone who chooses not to observe a particular process.

For participants under the age of 16, it is recommended that a parent or guardian attend the course as a support person to help the young participant make decisions about which topics may or may not be appropriate for them to observe.

LIABILITY

While we are teaching you skills that we believe can be enormously helpful in your life, it is up to you to use your own discretion about appropriate use of these techniques and decisions that you make about your life. Empower Therapies will not be held liable for any use, misuse or incorrect use of the techniques, nor for any expenses or losses that you may incur as a result.

COPYRIGHT

The Switch® is a registered trademark and contains copyright material, characters and ideas (unless referenced to a third party). We really want to share these ideas with you, but you are not able to photograph, film or record the course. You may not reproduce, sell or distribute the material. Any breach shall be deemed to be a breach of both section 56(2) of the Privacy Act 1993 and the Copyright Act 1994.

CONFIDENTIALITY

For everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience here, it is important that you respect and maintain confidentiality. While there is no requirement for you to share your private experiences with the group, some people may choose to do so. While you may share your own experiences outside of this room, if you choose to share other people's experiences, it must be anonymously – no names, no identifying details.

THE SWITCH® COURSE FEES

Total fee is $2197 NZD incl. GST.
The first module of $200 is paid up-front, and the remaining balance is payable two weeks prior to your course date.

Paying for Module 1 is a symbol of your genuine interest in attending The Switch®, and it gives you access to our e-book, Module 1 movie and a Discovery call with Mel. It is not refundable if you change your mind about attending the rest of the programme. 

The full package includes:

DISCOUNTS

– $100 for Next Steps to Recovery Webinar Package or for live 2 hour seminar attendees (not the free or the $97 webinars)
– $500 for Empower Therapies clients who've previously attended The Lightning Process or The Switch

Further follow-up sessions are available at $160/hour, $210/1.5 hours or $550 for a four hour support package, to be used over any timescale. Refresher and Refresher and Advanced course (5-6 hours long) is $400.

CANCELLATIONS BY EMPOWER THERAPIES

If we have to cancel a course ahead of time, you can choose whether to have an alternative date or a full refund. We do not offer compensation for flights and accommodation, so we recommend that you have travel insurance. If we have to delay part of a course that is already underway, we will offer an alternative date for you to finish the course, either live or online. (In 15 years, we have never cancelled a course and have only delayed two courses.)

If we do not offer you a place in the full programme, we will refund your first module also, and you won't yet have paid any full course fees.

CANCELLATIONS BY YOU

If you cancel more than ten days prior to your course, we can transfer your fees to a different date or refund you, minus your deposit.
If you cancel within the ten days prior to your course, we can transfer your fees to a different date or refund you, minus your deposit, so long as we are able to find someone to replace you. The closer to the date that you cancel, the less likely it is that we will be able to replace you and you may end up forfeiting your course fee.
If you cancel during the course, we will not be able to replace you, so cannot refund you, though we would offer you a 30% discount to attend the course at a later date.

While we have high success rates, we cannot guarantee outcomes as success depends on many factors, including engagement of the client. We do not offer refunds if you do not like the course or do not get the change from it that you were expecting. We are careful to only offer course places to people whom we think are highly likely to succeed.

STATISTICS

To monitor your progress and support you, as well as to quantify results and continue to improve the course, we ask that you fill in health survey forms prior to the course, two months after and one year after the course. They should take under five minutes to complete. Statistics will only be shared online or to researchers anonymously.

LIVE STREAM CONFIDENTIALITY

If you choose to attend The Switch via live stream, you consent to being seen and heard by the other participants in your group. You must preserve and protect both the confidentiality of the participants (who may choose to share private and confidential stories and comments), together with the copyright of the course and the characters/artwork within the course. Therefore, you may NOT do any of the following:
