I have seen a wide range of neurological disorders among my clients, with MS (multiple sclerosis) being the most common. I have observed people being able to double their walking distances and get rid of electric leg stimulators within the four days of the course. Clients usually experience some very good improvements and some have even reported that they no longer have any symptoms and their neurologists have discharged them! MIND-BODY CONNECTION TO NEUROLOGICAL
The number one pattern is the stress response. When your body is stuck in a stress response for too long, it drains many systems in your body, including the neurological system, which means that the nerves don’t have the resources available to repair themselves. The stress response gets exacerbated even more by being given a diagnosis such as MS – many people report big declines in health in the first six months after diagnosis, maybe largely due to the fear and stress about how bad their health could become. I have also observed common emotional patterns in neurological clients – they are usually super kind and helpful to everyone else, but very hard on themselves, which has put further stress on their nervous system.
During the 4 days of The Switch, you will be taught how to turn off the stress response, so that your neurological system becomes better resourced and can start healing itself. You will learn about how mind and body interact, and about the thinking patterns and behaviour patterns that have caused your body to be stuck in the stress response, and then you will practice techniques many times a day to turn these reactions off. If you are in a wheelchair, we can adapt the techniques for you to do sitting down. We will also address the emotional patterns and the original events that may have led to this stress pattern in your life. Clearing the old emotions can allow your body to heal much faster. We will also address the limiting beliefs that you have become stuck in – beliefs about how far you can (or can’t) walk, how your condition is only going to get worse et cetera. Clearing old beliefs like these also allows your body to heal faster.

1. Get your hope back about recovery being possible by watching some of the movies on this website. Just knowing that there is an answer can help people to relax and calm their stress response and start getting improvements.
2. Start actively reducing your stress response by doing things like meditation, breathing exercises, and activities that you find particularly relaxing.
3. Catch yourself doing “learnt limits” such as “I can’t walk to my letterbox” and challenge yourself to gradually reverse these trends, little bit by little bit.
4. Notice the voice inside yourself and teach it to be kind to you. Encourage and reassure yourself instead of telling yourself off. Develop a kinder, softer relationship with yourself.
If these very simple interventions fix your neurological issues – FANTASTIC!
If they are not enough for you, that’s OK. We have a lot of far more comprehensive techniques and education available at The Switch that will allow you to make bigger transformations.
* Disclaimer: Mel Abbott is not a medically trained doctor. She is trained in psychology and neuro-linguistic programming. She uses mind-body interventions to help calm the stress response and allow natural healing to occur in the body. This can be used alongside mainstream treatments if you choose. She does not offer diagnoses or medication advice. She recommends that clients return to their doctors after her treatment to confirm that they no longer have their condition and to be advised about safe weaning from their medication.
Mel does careful assessments prior to the programme and only offers places to people whom she thinks would benefit from it. She follows up with all her clients at several junctions after their course and collates the data from their feedback forms to produce the statistics on this website. She is therefore confident that her interventions are helping over 80% of her clients to achieve significant improvements to their health. While many clients report that they have made a full recovery, Mel cannot guarantee this outcome. So far there are no independent research studies or peer reviewed journal articles about The Switch®, though she would welcome such studies to take place.
